Last year, when it launched its first phone, OnePlus frustrated many buyers by having an invite-only system. Part of the frustration was waiting, the other part was having no idea when you would actually get an invite. A friend who had managed to buy one, or a forum member would have to send an invite in order for you to be able to give the company your money for a phone.
This year, OnePlus kept the invite system for the OnePlus 2 but also introduced a reservation list. Although you'd still have to wait for an invite, at least you'd know you were on a list to receive one eventually. That reservation list will soon close...
